A Screw Question

When driving my car I notice that my center console will jump once in a while when I hit a bump. So I jacked my car up and looked underneath and to my finding I found out that the screw that holds the trans mount and cross memeber was stripped. Question, should I go to Menards/Home Depot and get a new screw or I need to get one from the dealership?

if the trans mount bolt is stripped you need a new trans mount. that are only like 15$ at any auto parts store.

I just took out the screw that goes between the cross member and the trans mount. Question, when taking it out I was assuming that the screw would be a flat tip but to my suprise it is a pointy tip. Does it make a different of the type of tip the screw is?

The pointed tip is there for assembly purposes. Any regular screw with the correct thread and length will do.
