Scanmaster
Scanmaster
kind of new with the OBD1 and i was wondering how the scanmaster works and what it can tell me? how easy/userfriendly is it? (sorry about using the word userfriendly...you know what i mean)
It can tell you alot of things. Manifold pressure, MAF readings, injector pulsewidths, etc. It has 2 buttons, and you cycle through the different readings with one button. This page has ALOT of info and lists all of the readings it displays.
The other is a recall button, and displays the most recent WOT run, highest KR and lowest O2 readings. Hit both buttons and it will show the MPH for those last KR & O2 readings.
So, it's pretty easy to use. Takes a little while to remember what all the abbreviations mean. I used to have printouts from Fred's page that had the abbreviation, what it stood for and a range of what the number should be. Drove around and watched the numbers, wrote them down. Like LO2 stands for left O2 sensor and should be around 890 at WOT, the RBL stands for right block learn and should be around 128, etc. My biggest problem is forgetting to recall a WOT run, I'll remember after I shut the car off.
You're lucky you have a Camaro, you have a cool spot to mount the ScanMaster. Here is how I mounted mine, since it's a Pontiac.
