sbc timing chain in lt1
sbc timing chain in lt1
I read that if I was doing a cam swap and have an electric water pump that I can run a standard sbc timing set. Is this true? I found from an old post that the cloyes true roller timing set works well. The part number is 9-3145. Anyone know about this, and is there anything I need to change because my car is a 94 OBDI? Thanks.

Yes, you can run this timing set with an electric water pump I have one but not sure about the part number, just make sure it's for a factory hydraulic roller which has a different camshaft bolt pattern than regular ones.
You'll have to change to the vented opti (95+) and somehow have a long pin on the camshaft 0.615-0.62".
