sbc oil pan on lt1?
sbc oil pan on lt1?
has or is anyone running a sbc oil pan on a fourth gen with stock k-member? i really dont care about the low oil level sensor and dont really want to spend the $$ for a canton. i will be running a 383 with a high volume pump and would like the extra cacacity of the aftermarket pans. any info on this subject would be very helpfull.
It would have to be a 2-pc rear main seal pan. It would then fit on the motor as the LT1 is just a Gen 1 SBC from the deck down otherwise Would it fit in the car? Probably not. Would it be cheaper, comparable quality to quality than one that is designated to fit? Probably not.

i belive it would haveto be a 1 pice rear main seal pan tofit seeing an an lt1 is a 1 pice rear main. i know they will fit the block withoout problem but what about the chassis? anyone done this before?

have you personally had experience witht this? not doubting you but i want to make shure someone has done it before i order a pan.
I have a friend running a milodon 30909 stroker low profile pan on his 383 lt1 right now with a stock k member. In fact I have one to go on mine if I ever get it done. So yes that pan will work but fair warning its as much as other lt1 pans anyway but is stroker clearanced and has I think a little extra capacity.
