sbc motor mounts compared to lt1
sbc motor mounts compared to lt1
Is there any difference between the standard sbc engine motor mounts and the lt1 motormounts? I am trying to figure this out before i order the new k-member to the carbed sbc gets put together.
It's gonna be tough to hook up a GEN I smallblock in place of a GEN II. Especially with the reverse flow cooling. If u want a carbed 350 so bad, why don't u convert ur LT1 to a carb? u can do it, it's not as difficult as swapping a motor IMO.
im not worried about difficulty at all.. I want different.. Not to mention the afr 227 heads going on the car cost much less than the lt4 afr heads.. Plus the only carb intake manifold for the lt1 is a dual plane,at least that is all i have seen.. i don't think a dual plane is going to feed my 7500rpm solid roller 383. I have most of the details worked out about the swap except the motor mounts and the radiator.
thats the only thing i was worried about was the way they bolt to the k-member. I might even go with motor plates because i am worried about the stress that is seen at the exact three points in the block where the motor mounts bolt to. I will have to figue out the radiator once i have the engine in.. I am going to find a way to utalize my stock fans with it though.
Does anyone have a for sure answer on this? By looking at pictures the lt1 mount looks different on the way it bolts to the k-member, and has on more mounting hole on the block than a standard 350. I need to validate this so i can order my k-member
