SBC Heads to LT1 Block ??

Is there a way to "fit" a set of traditional SBC heads to a LT1 block AND have them completely functional ? The reason I ask is I have a set of Canfield 220's and I was wondering if it would be possible to make them work on my LT1.............??? If anyone can shed any light upon this .... Please do !!

I honestly don't think they can but even if they could i think it would take alot of work and would be very expensive. The water passages are alot different between the two, from what i have read the canfields are very good heads so you should be able to sell them easily and buy a set of ported LT1 heads.

It just takes some welding, machining, drilling, tapping and ... oh, yeah $.

Before considering spending the $ to convert a set of heads to something not many people can use, I'd consider just selling them and putting the $ into something done with whatever specific application you have in mind. Of course they could be just what you need, dunno what to tell ya
