Re: sb heads on lt1 block?
definately not worth it. I pieced together a standard old flat tappet sbc. honestly, thats not worth it either. if u want to go sbc but with carb, get an l98 block or something else with roller lifters and cam. much simpler cam decisions.

Re: sb heads on lt1 block?
I seem to remember someone saying it costs around 600.00 to have the work done to the heads to make them compatable with the LT1, If you happen to have a nice set of 1500.00 heads laying around it ma be worth having them converted to the LT1 block, otherwise you'd be better off just buying some LT1 heads. Going price on stock LT1 heads in the for sale section seems to be around 200.00, even with the price of having them rebuilt it would still be cheaper than converting old SBC heads.
