sb heads on lt1 block?

sb heads on lt1 block?

hi all.. i was just wondering i have all the parts of a small block : heads intake, carb distributor and i happen to have a lt1 block lying around
my question is could a sb head be fitted onto the lti block i dont know what this would do to the reverse coolong but i dont think it sould be a problem... any ideas or suggestions are more than welcomed..

It will cost some money spent at the machine shop to make the heads work. Not really worth it, IMO.

definately not worth it. I pieced together a standard old flat tappet sbc. honestly, thats not worth it either. if u want to go sbc but with carb, get an l98 block or something else with roller lifters and cam. much simpler cam decisions.

I seem to remember someone saying it costs around 600.00 to have the work done to the heads to make them compatable with the LT1, If you happen to have a nice set of 1500.00 heads laying around it ma be worth having them converted to the LT1 block, otherwise you'd be better off just buying some LT1 heads. Going price on stock LT1 heads in the for sale section seems to be around 200.00, even with the price of having them rebuilt it would still be cheaper than converting old SBC heads.
