The 255s are a bit taller than the 245s. I had 255s in the back and 245 in the front and I definetely noticed the difference.

255s are 26.4" tall (calculated)
245s are 25.65" tall (calculated)

The speedo will be slightly off with 255s.

Check your calculator (or your typing ).

255/50-16 works out to 26.04". That is a 1.5% increase in diameter, which means your speedo will read about 59MPH at a true 60MPH.

Ooops, typo.
Fred is correct.... and when I said I noticed the difference, I meant I could tell they were bigger by looking at them.

I had new Dunlop tires... they were pretty nice.
