Inertial loads on bearings are twice as great, about, at 7000 as they are at 5000, FYI......

I don't think the bottom end is the factor at 6200 rpm.The hydraulic lifters won't follow the profile of the cam over about 6200 rpm,that's why the lwer redlines on roller motors.The cranks and blocks are up to it but the valve train isn't.Won't hurt it but won't make any more power.

When I had my Z it would wrap all the way upto about 6300 and then shift. It was an auto. Never had any problems with it. Just had exhaust and intake done.

I see much info in here i tend to find hard to believe.

Anyone using the stock tachs numbers should be totally ignored. Those things are off by a decent amount in most cases.

Data logs (until 6375, lol)/aftermarket tachs are good sources
