Safe to start car after 6 weeks?

Do I have to somehow prep the motor before I start it or can I simply start it right away? As stated above it hasn't been started in 6 weeks (I was out of town) so the cylinder walls might possibly be dry by now. Thanks in advance .

Considering most of us in the colder states store the car for at least 3 months a year, I doubt you have anything to worry about. I've never had any issues.

Let her live!!!

Just don't shut her off until she is all the way warmed up. If you do you won't burn off all the condensation in the oil.

Yeah I Run AMSOIL in most of my stuff Like the 91 GTA the AMX and my Company Truck's.
but i strat every thing once ta twice a month........
My 80's beeater winter fleet sit's all summer Half of spring Half of Fall,A few of them get used year round, but the winter fleet has convertional oil. they seem do be fine gotta dump a little gas in da carb's but they fire up run fine. i do try to start them once a month but sometime they get start every 2 month's some might sit the whole time. But if they haven't been started for like 9 month's I'll push em in side sump a littel oil down the,m then fire them up let sit a run a for an hour or 2 ,tune them up drive them a bit andthere ready to Go.I start the summer fleat once a month on the Dot tho.repaint any mis hap's.

It should be all good man Maybe check your oil and coolant and stuff then start it up let run 20min. then hti the gas station drive it about an hour or so then it for sure is ready to Roll.

Isn't there a fuel pump fuse in the fuse box under the hood.. ?

Could always unplug that before starting, to build up the oil pressure before starting.

Instead of the risk of getting air in the lines. Just unplug your fuel injectors' fuse.

Thanks for your help, everyone . I went out and started it. Ran a little lumpy and lopey at first but evened out in a few seconds. Oil pressure came up instantly. No weird noises. Drove it around an hour or so, let the temps get nice and hot. Seems good to me. Time to change that oil though.
