S/A rockers and 847 cam

Are the s/a rockers that come with the hotcam any good to use with the gm 847 cam?

Is there any springs good enough for that ammount of lift that will clear the rocker?

or should i ditch the rockers and go with guide plates and diffrent rockers?

Re: S/A rockers and 847 cam

If I were going with such an agressive cam. I'd go with the piece of mind for the stronger setup. NSA would be the ideal way to go. There's pleny of spring out there that will take the 847 on and smile. I know Crane makes a spring that fits stock heads without machining that's ideal for cams like the 847... but I forget the PT# Joe told me. Just sell the Hotcam rockers.... for a few bucks and put it towards piece of mind. Seems like you already have a nice motor under your hood... I wouldn't skimp my valve train. It can be done... but I wouldn't suggest it.

Yeah the valvesprings you need to work a 847 over 6000rpm are going to put some loads on the rockers and studs... a good 7/16 stud rocker is the way to go.
