S.E.S. light
S.E.S. light
I have a 95 Z28 with a service engine light on. The code is 36 high resolution pulse circuit. After I drive the car for about 10 miles it will die. My ? is what in the does this mean? & what in the hell do I do about it?
DTC 36 indicates that the Optispark is not providing the high resolution pulse pattern, required to accurately adjust the ignition timing. Lacking the high resolution pulse, the PCM will default to the low resolution pulse, which simply means the timing may not be quite as accurate. But it shouldn't cause the engine to stall.
You might want to check the harness connections for the Opti to make sure they are not corroded.
