?'s about my g/f's car and LT1 FREE MOD!
My girl friend is gonna to buy a 97-99 2dr. Grand Prix GTP
But really wants me to make it fast enough beat up on Mustang GT's(95-99) I can see this being to hard. Now the tipical mags (summit,jegs,ect...)dont list very many bolt ons for these cars
so what Im woundering is does any know if theres any free mods
(smaller pulley on the supercharger, hollow out M.A.S. resistors, ect...) or of a web for these cars.
P.S. She even wants to beat up fairly stock LT's
P.P.S. I've seen any one post any thing about hollowing the M.A.S.
on LT1's so heres the steps on what I'm talking about.
****THIS MOD IS NOT PREFORMED ON THE MAS ITS SELF BUT ON THE HOUSING AN SHOULD TAKE 3O-60 MINS.****
1-Take Mass Airflow Sensor & Housing off your car
2-Remove the alum. housing from each side of the sensor (set the sener its self in very safe place)
3-Now if you look at the housing there is a air resricting foil (bar)
on each side now using a hole saw (my tool of choice) from the back side cut those foils out(careful now killer).
4-Then using a dremel(agian my tool choice) smooth out the housing(take your time). Now remember it does'nt have to be perfect because air will not for .003 of a inch on any surface but it should be close.
5-Put the sensor & housing back together and back on the car.
**Im sorry I dont have pics. but it should look pretty close to the Billet housing by G.M.S. in sold in Jegs LT1 section for 109.99+tax. and just as they advertise you will gain 10-15hp(8 if your lucky) this will do the same**
In my 95 T/A this mod pulled no dash lights and I cant see it doing that to any ones LT1.
Thanks and Your welcome

I got beat by a GTP runnin 12.6s with a few mods, intercooler and such.
Ive seen them up around 450 at the wheels.
**** its just a Grand national block basically, can take a lot. In fact there is someone on here with a really high hp one.

Well, id have to tell her to be lookin for another car besides a gtp. Within that price range she should be gettin a 93-97 lt1 fbody. Beating mustangs wont be easy because they have alot of off the line power, especially the sticks with a good driver and dont even think about beating LT1's. But if you just have to have a gtp, go with a chip or some exhaust upgrades, k&n, or something. But i dont think they will be that fast. I beat one off the line in my 96 RS with a v-6 with just intake and exhaust mods. he slowly started pullin on me but still thats not that impressive. If i were you or her, id rethink before i spent that kind of money on something that i wanted some performance out of.
Dont knock those cars there buddy. Just like an '03 cobra, turn up the boost, cool it down, get the exhaust out and go.
Like I said, when i was at low 13s i got beat up bad by one with only a few mods, under $3000

I dont know. She really wants a gtp and we were @ the track and seen stock gtp's going 15.2 and my buddys stock LT1 (96 w/47k miles) only went 14.72 I dont know what gt's go but it not fast than a 14.72 becuse he was put a hertin on a gt w/ a exhaust, pulleys and a C/A. I wacthed it and made $50.00 doing so.
