runs like crap

I have a 95 Z automatic that I rebuilt the engine a few months ago. I have put probably put 2000 miles on it. Yesterday the car started running like its missing and has lost some power. I do not have a cat. converter on this car. The plugs and wires look good and no check engine light and no codes. Anyone have any ideas I am frustrated. Also before this happened the tank was filled with Speedway premium and had probably had 40 miles on that tank of gas. Please somebody save me!!!!!!!! Thanks in advance, Butch

Can you be a little more specific? When does this happen? is the engine hot or cold? How does it idle? Does it start easily? Does it miss at the top end or all the time?

I would look futher into the basics....double check that you do not have a burned spark plug wire and check your fuel pressure.

The car starts and idles normal and the miss (thats what I am calling it) happens all the time. It feels and sounds like a car with a clogged converter. It is sluggish and you hear a miss. Wires look OK and the plugs I will pull to look at tonite. I am wondering what the symptoms are if the opti is going bad. I thought the opti was either good or bad no in between, am i right or wrong on this? Any input is appreciated. Feel free to call me at 7652109012. Thanks again

Opti is a possibility. I would check fuel pressure first. They can act up without being completely dead.

Do you have any mods done to the car? Miles? Anything been changed recently?

I'd edit the phone number out.

Did you look at the wires, coil, while it is dark to see if there is any arcing?

its bound to be an ignition problem. same thing happened on my 94 firebird. most likely a worn cap/rotor, which was my problem.
