Running terrible..

Ok here's the story...I'll start my car and let it get up to operating temp and take off. It runs good for about 10 miles then it starts running like ****.... wants to stall, doesnt want to rev; basically sounds like its running on 6 cylinders. then it will clean up and run good for half a minute, then turn to **** again. I have <500 miles on everything in my sig in addition to coil, opti (OEM), icm, plugs, fuel pump and JUST got done putting new plug wires on today. Something tells me the opti is on its way out again but i have no ses light. Any suggestions?

Did you put install the new wires after it was running like this, or before?

sounds like a closed loop problem to me, maybe o2 sensors

do you have any way of scanning it, or at least checking it for codes

Yes... check for codes. Opti codes don't turn on the SES light.

scanned with datamaster.... dtc 33 (low vac...read sig; i.e big cam) and dtc 44 left 02 lean. The car idled fine while it was in open loop and the second it hit closed loop it stalled...d/c the o2 sensor for now so it stays in open loop while I wait on my delcos to arrive. thanks guys!

i would consider checking power and ground at the o2 that is bad, just to make sure you do not have an issue with your extensions
what did you see when you monitored that o2?

the code for low vacuum is most likely because of the way it is running, your cam should not cause that

glad to hear you are moving in the right direction though

I've had dtc33 ever since I put the motor in and it was there even when the car was running really well. I've checked over and over and over for vac leaks and came up with nothing, so I'm not too worried about it. ...it doesnt put on the ses light except for if the rpms happen to drop really low, so maybe you're right and its just a stored code from when it starts to sputter and stall

I will be sure to make sure its not an issue with the power or ground at the 02 before i order new ones. There is a good possibility that the actual o2 is bad though because the tune is VERY rich and I also installed coated longtubes
I can't recall what the readings were but I'll check it again sometime tonight. Right now, though, I'm working on pulling the motor out of this POS DSM that i have... lol

Thanks Dan... If you're ever going to be anywhere around NW PA send me a pm...there's a moderately sized group of us over here with slow f bods

The LE cams seem to frequently set the low vacuum code (more than 68kPa MAP at closed throttle). I would assume the "LE3.2" is fairly radical and likely to set the code. I see it a lot in the data logs people send me.
