running rich
I have talked to Fred, he always had the best info. I need to clean my maf yet but I noticed a little light show when I opened the hood in the dark. I believe there are just two wires arcing but I have an OTVC kit to install.
What issues would the arcing cause? Would having deleted the egr and not having it tuned out cause any problems. I do get a code for it every now and then. The car had always smelled rich since the day I bought it and even after the new engine. At startup I get a small puff of smoke that smells like the smell I get when driving like after going up a hill or after wot. While cruising, the rpm surges and most of the time while cruising I have to give it a decent amount of gas because it just didn't want to go. Car has full power and drives great besides those issues.

I am assuming you are saying that you have two plug wires arcing and what would that do. If you think about it it would suggest the plug on that wire would not get full spark and may lead to poor combustion in that cyllinder. Then the o2 sensor takes a reading and tries to correct with the fueling and then it throws off the good ones. I personally always wonder how that electricle energy may effect other electronics as I do know you can pick some of that up in a stereo system sometimes. Change your wires and clean your maf lol. When I cleaned my maf the maf cleaner spray alone did not fully clean it. I gently used a qtip with the spray and that did remove all the residue. I dont know if the qtip is recommended or wise to use in general but the person who advised me to use it has had good results as did I. Use the cleaners that are designed for the maf though.

I will get the right cleaner.
Our reliable vehicle just got totaled by my brotherswoman so I can't really take the time and have my car down as its the only one running. I should be getting a new one here within a week then I will tear mine apart.
