Running Rich

Well a couple of months ago I installed some Jet-Hot Long tubes on my 97 Formy. I'm running true duals, and have 02 simms on the rear 02's. I also had the EGR and AIR removed from the car as well. And the shop edited the pcm, so it wouldnt throw codes for them.

Well I notice the car runs rich. Not too rich, or too the point that you can see black smoke coming out. But its noticeable. Especially when your running true duals with no cats, you can kind of smell that it is too.

The car just hit 80k. And I'm wondering if its the 02 sensors. Maybe I should change those out? But I've also been told that LT1's tend to run rich from the factory too. So I dont know which is the case.

What do you all think. Thanks in advance.

Mike

the stock tune is a little on the rich side, you would probably pick up a little hp by getting a pcmforless/madwolf tune. (leaning it out a little)

how is your gas mileage?

changing your o2's at 80K is probably a good idea, but not the reason you are running a little rich.

gas milage could be better. But its decent concidering the gears.

Which 02's should I go with? GM's, or aftermarket?

I also noticed this LT1 MAF Translator on http://ls1speed.com/catagory.cfm?catagory=induction
Anyone tried this before?

thanks,
Mike
