running rich; problems/fixes/ideas

Car is in signature. I did not really pay attention to the two huge black marks on my bumper, but though hey it is running really rich. I also noticed I got some pretty bad gas milage (20 highway) before winter.

What causes the car to run rich? My O2 sensors are fine, catalytic converter is fine, have recent spark plugs, and new fuel filter. I did a search and found someone said his car stumbled when he floored it. Mine has done that only a couple times since I got it 6 months ago, and the two times have been lately in the cold. He said he changed the O2 sensors, cat, and cleaned his EGR pipe from the manifold to intake. Well we all know how cramped the engine bay is, taking the EGR pipe off is easier said than done.

Does anyone have a fix or idea of what is going on? I do not think it is my MAF either, but I have an extra one I am going to swap to see if it changes.

change your coolant temp sensor (in the front of the water pump) they are like $8 at autozone or advanced auto, dont go to napa, they are 28 there. but anyways, i have seen many cars barely run or run extremely rich because of a bad ect. for 8 dollars and 10 mins of work, i would definitely try that. my car wouldnt rev over 4500 and was leaving a huge cloud of smoke everywhere and getting like 10 mpg, i changed that and it runs a thousand times better now.
