Running Oil Pump

I just pickup a 1994 Pontiac Trans Am with a LT1 I'm new to GM Car would not start, took Valve cover are off car i adjusted the Valves to Zero Lash would not start, Seen a post set to Zero then back 1/4 turn Started running rough not getting any oil to the valve cover took off a Rocker and the part that's under the nut to the rocker is all chewed up (i don't know what that called) on at least 2 rockers this engine has a comp cam CC503 the whole setup rockers look good I'm concerned that very low oil pressure I keep seeing Searching that seems to me the Pick up tube falls off?
Gauge shows right at the red or lower

Re: Running Oil Pump

You won't see much oil coming from the valve train on an LT1 at idle. You should see some (or more) flow at about 1500 RPM. Are they stock rockers? Maybe it is the ball under the nut you are describing.
