running larger injectors than needed. any disadvantage?

My new setup is N/A and i am shooting for a power range of 400-425 RWHP. I was advised to get something around a 36 lb/hr injector but i have come across some racetronix 42 lb/hr injectors for sale. as long as i have the PCM mapped accordingly, will this cause any problems. i am running stock fuel pressure through the stock fuel pressure rails with a walbro 255 L/hr pump at the moment.

Thanks,

Brandon

Your idle may not be as good. Contolling the needed pulse rate at idle rpms and the amount of fuel being delivered becomes more problematic.

my cam is a 236/242 .608/.576 on a 111 lobe and the target idle is set at 1000 rpms. it seems to have trouble ideling with the 36/lbers i have now. they are accel injectors and i would really like to get rid of them though.

36's will work if you are tuned for them. When ya send your computer off for the tune tell them and they can tune them.

I have seen lots of posts with the accells being junk. I had a pair and never thought they were an issue, but lots of people don't like them.

I have 37# Racetronix on a stock engine and I have no problems. 42# on a 400RWHP engine would be less of an oversize than 37# on a stock engine.

Lots of other people have run 37-42# on a stock engine in anticipation of upcoming H/C work without problems.

I have 42s racetronix on a heads cam motor and dont have any problems. As long as the tune is good you should be fine.
