Running hot? (new to lt1's)
Does it have ground effects? I bought mine with a Wings West front lip... the owner told me it liked to run a little warm... well the temp needle went all the way up until the fans kicked on and cooled it off. It didn't take me long to figure out that the front lip was blocking ALL air from the radiator. Pulled it of and she ran (180?) where it was supposed to.
Mine ran like that from day one. Just under the red zone. Called the dealer and they said no problem. Bought a 160 thermostat and programed the fans to come on early. Made me feel a whole lot better.
Well at the end of the day I ended up passing on the car. It was beautiful but decided I really didn't want to take the chance. So my search continues in San Diego for another nice z28. Ironic enough, I got a call from a local used lot that was selling a blue 1994 with 120k on it that is owned by one of the partners in the dealership. Has some bolts on and recently did a rebuild on the engine. I will post some pictures later and maybe get some opinions? He is asking around 6 for it. Car is pretty clean and I am headed for a test drive @ lunch today. Maybe it was a sign that the first one wasn't meant to be.

Running hot.
Mine never gets to half gauge, even with the AC on and idling in traffic.
I'd check the coolant levels and make sure the fans are coming on, if they aren't I'd check the fuses and stuff to make sure. You should be able to hear them.
Also, does it smell hot? It could be the gauge, too (not that I would gamble on it).

Well it seems the blue car i linked is going to probably be the one. Runs solid as ever. I got them down on the price a bit, but not too much. They had just did a rebuild on the engine and given her new tires etc. Comes with a bit of a warranty as well. They provided all records and a clean carfax. I am pretty excited to come over to a Camaro. I am sure I will be asking for tons of advice in the near future. This forum in particular helped me make my decision. The lot owner's brother actually owned that vehicle and he is an enthusiast.
