running hot
k here is the deal my temp gauge is running hot and the low water level light keeps comeing on once the temp starts going up but when you check the level it's fine. I am guessing thermostat needs to be replaced seeing how it's a 95 and prob has never been replaced. but I just wanted to see if maybe the 95's had a cooling flaw to them or not
What temperatures are you considering "running hot"? Have you checked the gauge reading (from sensor in drivers side head) against the PCM coolant temp reading, which comes from the sensor in the water pump housing? Where are you checking the coolant level?
All LT1's have a unique reverse flow cooling system. It requires a t'stat completely different than any other SBC, and requires very carefull attention to removing all the air from the cooling system. Some might see that as a "flaw", but it actually helps the engine achieve its good HP results.
