i did an opti change,and since water is shooting out of coolant fill tube.i did the proper fill precedure,bleeding the system and all.i checked the thermastat and it is opening.i was wondering if i hooked up something wrong or maybe blown head gasket.ANY IDEAS I WOULD BE THANKFUL......

 

If everything is connected correctly, maybe radiator cap? Other symptoms will usually accompany a head gasket problem (not always).

 

IF I RUN THE CAR WITH THE CAP OFF WHEN IT GETS TO ABOUT 210 DEG IT WILL START BOILING OVER. IS THAT NORMAL?(RUNNING AT IDLE IN THE DRIVEWAY)

 

If you leave the radiator cap off, when the engine warms up, it will try to push the coolant out the top. Pretty normal.

Shoebox is right. LT1s have a pressurized system. The coolant will literally erupt out of the radiator like a volcano. If its not the cap, you have a leak in your system.

 

what do you mean leak in the system? i changed the cap today,and it is still shooting out.

 

I mean theres a hole in one of your hoses but its not that noticeable. I had a hole in a hose that I couldnt really see underneath and caused coolant to shoot out the overflow resevoir. Something somewhere is letting air in.
