Anyone doing this? Having some problems with posi units breaking, specifically the spider gears. i beleive Musser did this, but I wasnt sure why he did it. Im thinking the 30 spline posi gears have more meat to them, so running 33 down the length for axles strength and then cutting down to 30s to help spider gear posi life.

 

Doesn't work that way.. you can't cut the axles to work like that...

And the 33 Spline are a LOT stronger than the 30 Spline interface...

 

You are aware that the "splines" are only cut in the ends of the axles, where they connect to the spider gears? They don't run "down the length of the axles".

 

if im not mistaken, when jordan did that he broke the spline end of the axle...been a while back when i read it so this may be wrong...

 

That makes no sense at all....axle is still going to fail at the weakest point.

 

Yes I know they arent splined, i shoudl word better. 33 spline THICKNESS down the length. Cut down to 30 spline count/thickness.

Has anyone broken a axle? We just keep bustings posi units, 99% the spider gears go
