Post RR/LT4 valvespring Dyno results...

Finally got to dyno today after installing Comp Pro Mag 1.6 RR's and LT4 valvesprings. Gained a solid 7 RWHP and 2 lb-ft. of torque. Not really surprising to me, but overall I'm satisfied.

Here's a pic of my runs:

Huh? What were you expecting? It's not like he installed a cam.

I thought 10 hp was the normal gain from 1.6rr's so it might be a little low. Maybe the rockers are a little tight yet.

Also, how did you gain 7 hp from only 2 extra TQ.

Dan

I can't dissect this one too much for ya, the dyno tells all.

Oh yeah, run #8 on there (the green line) is the run with the Hypertech "tuning" installed. Funny how the other two runs with STOCK tuning run RIGHT with it.

I have spent a lot of time on the dyno, enough to know that manufacturer's claims (theory/fluff) vs. reality are two different animals.

Maybe you never gained the 10-15rwhp that some people think you would get from 1.6rr's because you have no headers? Throw some LTs on there and I bet you would be aroun 315rwhp.

Glad to see you finally made it to the dyno! The numbers look about right. Only a few more HP till your 300hp goal. I'm with the idea of LT's

Hey thanks. I would LOVE to have longtubes, but they just won't work for a daily driver. I barely clear speed bumps as it is, and I'd probably bang them into something eventually. So I'll probably stick with Mac's or SLP's.

Ya know, can't tell you how tempting it was to yank the serpentine just so I could eclipse the 300 mark.

I would seriously look into the RK Sports/Arizona Speed and Marine headers... IMHO the best shortie/Mid's out there period

are those RK sport headers made in house by RK or are they AS&M's? I thought they were BBK's actually

Lookie here:

They claim to be longtubes, but they sure as hell look like mid's to me. I will definitely consider them since by the time you buy the install kit and gaskets the SLP's cost the same.
