Thumbs up Rough running at low RPM solved!

For the record, I finally figured out what was causing the car to idle rough and run rough until it warmed up (reached closed loop). Hopefully some of you will find this helps you also...

DataMaster was indicating the engine was detecting a lean condition but I couldn't find anything wrong with any of the sensors. With some help from Shoebox, I started checking for things causing too much air in the exhaust like spark plug wire flash over (unburned air/fuel), and exhaust leaks. The problem only happened in open loop mode before the PCM was able to compensate for the fuel/air mixture in closed loop mode.

I noticed a ticking sound coming from the back of the block and found the exhaust manifold bolts toward the rear on both sides had loosened causing an exhaust leak. Not the first time! I removed both manifolds, replaced the gaskets and bolts and tightened everything back up and the problem was fixed!!!

I also did notice some fireworks around the plugs and wires so I replaced them with Taylor wires and Bosch Platinum 4 plugs. All together I noticed a huge improvement in responsiveness and the rough running is gone.

Thanks for the help Shoebox!
