idle is pretty rough, seems like a huge cam
rpms are steady and don't move at all
car sounds worse in gear (A4) then in park
i know i have a header leak but could this cause a real rough idle?
header leak will be fixed soon, any other ideas?

i had bad plugs/wires in my previous '93 Z28...might wanna check those out.

but when it was wires before the rpms were frantic and jumping

 

Might have a bad fuel injector or maybe a wire slipped of and isn't fireing a cylinder.

 

I have a rough idle like you described, im almost positive its the opti. I also have a low RPM hesitation and a random high RPM miss. Do yuo have any of these symptoms? A bad opti has been known to cause a rough idle, shake the car a little ....I can hear it cough/backfire at idle slightly.

 

O2 sensors maybe? Having the header leak might have made the O2s to go out causing the rough idle. Do you get the SES light at all while driving? Thats what mine is doing.

 

my car got one hell of a rough idle
but it runs right damn good i think it has todo with the cam tho

header leak shouldnt do that

 

i get SES after about 10minutes of driving
i don't even have 02 sensors hooked up they are on order
my opti was just replaced but my water pump was leaking after that, and then the water pump was replaced, the water pump better not have f*cked the opti up again
