315's - Is the Sex worth the Cash ?

315's cost a bit of cash the tires and the rims. Beside the nice wide stance is there a noticable difference in the way it handles ?

Definitely. This was the second best mod I did on my 95 Formula (#1 was B&M shifter ). Made a huge difference in traction and handling. If I could find some Firehawk rims in 17x10" to 17x11" I would have already upgraded my 97.

I have to agree here. Having like 3 extra inches of tread makes a HUGE difference. Of course, having some othe suspension to back it up helps a lot but the rear of your car will definitely be a little tougher to kick out and it'll hook better off the line...assuming you get good tires. Just keep in mind what all that means for your 10-bolt.

I love mine, hehe, looks killer from the behind. The *** just looks amazing. Otherwise, hooks alot better, and generally more traction. You can usually pick up tires fairly cheap on tirerack,

But me, I give it 5 thumbs up. =)

I love mine also......I will never go back. Mine fit perfect..no adjustments made. The only thing I did and other recommended it to me and wish they had was roll the fenders. You don't wanns cut your $$$tires on the inside of the fenders. As far as traction.....shi*, go figure mine got worse. Don't ask me how. I think its because of the tires. Running Dunlops. I also get wheel hop now. Gotta get some LCA's.

But I do love them.

White 17x7, 17x11 ZR1 Wheels
Did you get them narrowed up front or would those be George Benson's old wheels?

i think the only downside to 315 is the weight and if you dont have 373 or 410 your car will be be a dog.i dunno i just got some c5 takeoff rims and i was looking at 305 nittos but i just decided to stick with 275/40/r18 bfg kdw and i couldnt be happier.i also have stock 323 that will be swapping out this winter with 373

You decide:

315 on a 17x11 vs. 275 on a 17x9.5

And yes, Aeromaks has George Baxter's SS wheels.

I had 315s in the rear and 275s in the front, my wheels are 17x9. The tractions was definitly great but for some reason the rear wheel on the drivers side rubbed the inside of the wheel well. Other than that they were nice, i just went with 275 all around cause thats how it was stock so i figured it would be best.

Love mine. They don't rub, and the DR's are half of what the regular radials go for.

I cannot stress how much I LOVE my Nitto 315 DRs. They look nice on the rear, but most importantly the traction is awesome. Not to mention, people actually stop to see the tires.

I must also say, the 17x11 and nitto 315's were prolly the best mod I have done. Everytime I see an SS or something with stock 275's to me just looks soo little. The stance with 11's and 315's is awesome. Just make sure you get the correct 50mm offset for the rear wheels otherwise they will stick out 3rd gen style and look redneck.

Do the DR's take corners well or are they strictly for straight line traction. I'd imagine with 315's in the back the grip over 9 inch tires in the corners would be pretty big? Can you drive with DR's in the rain?
