Rough Idle and SES Light!

I had SLP Headers and an SLP Loud Mouth Exhaust kit installed on my 97 SS last week. On Friday while driving home I noticed that the idle was starting to get quite rough and by the next signal light the SES light was on and blinking. I pulled over, checked under the hood (didn't see anything disconnected) and fired the car back up and the SES light was still blinking. I jacked it up the next day and didn't see any wire burnt to the headers or cats or any of the O2 sensors disconnected. Yesterday I checked the plugs and found one that was loose and tightened it back up and checked all the boots. This morning I ran into the same problem, rough idle and loss of power and the SES light blinks or stays on.
1) How do I check the code on a 97 LT1?

2) Does anyone have any suggestions what else to check to know what the problem might be?

TIA!!!

You need to hook it up to an OBD2 scanner. No point in guessing at what the problem could be until you get it scanned. You can get it scanned at a dealer ($$$) or sometimes parts stores have the scanner.

Can you only use a scan tool to retrieve trouble codes?

I have always used the diagnostic port and a paper clip on my thirdgens
