Rough idle not smoothing out...

I just replaced the opti 2 weeks ago with a used one. The used opti was previously in this car, but was replaced before it went bad...had about 40k miles on it.

Well about a week ago I had a coolant line leaking onto the opti. So I fixed the line, and the car was fine. Now I start the car today and its idleling pretty rough, so I drove it around hoping it woudl smooth out but it never did. WHen I accelerate it accelerates, but very rough....feels like its missing almost.

Im gonna be pisssed if I have to pull the damn opti again. Any other ideas I should try?

Oh yea, before I put that opti in, I ran a bead of RTV sealant around the entire thing, so I figured it should be water proof...

I do have a Intake Manifold Leak...could that just be getting worse and making it idle worse?

It could be something as simple as not putting the wires on the right plugs... try tracing the wires again just to make sure. It happens to alot of people on this board.

Oh sorry I only read the first half of your post and figured id throw some quick advice and edit it later... Here goes my editing:

Nevermind, Im not sure what to tell you on that one... sorry

But it may be fine tomorrow, you never know.

It ran fine for a few days...then all the sudden the battery dies after it sat for 2 days. SO I charged it and started it up, and now its running rough.

Well if your battery is dying after only 2 days of sitting... It could be that you need a new battery. Do you have a way of checking the voltage coming from the battery? Im sure we'll get slopokrodrigez in here, he seems to always chime in on these electrical threads

Yup I got a multi meter..ill run out and see what its doing. But the thing is that the battery is like not even 2 months old. Brand new 170 amp alternator, and new belt....

The volts have been jumping around at idle, but i thought that was due to my intake manifold leak....or so ive been told.

When I start the car, the volts stay at around 14.5 volts until the car warms up and they start jumping around and dropping..
