rough idle? loss of power? free advice!
I just want to share a learning experience. I had a friend change my plugs and wires last weekend and when I got it back I could tell it just quite didn't run right. The car would surge up and down at idle when cold and the idle was a bit rough. It didn't seem to have quite as much power as it used too. (Despite the fact that many of the old plugs were missing the platinum "pucks" and were way out of gap) At one point I though it was the 3 heat shield covers were arcing though the boots, I tried different gas. I checked the gaps on a few of the easy to get to plugs. But when I was about to check the coil. I discovered the problem! The guy who worked on it didn’t get the air intake elbow on correctly! the bottom part was folded back and air was leaking in causing the computer go whack with the air fuel mixture. This is fairly easy to do if you aren’t
careful putting this hose on.
This website has help me many times so I would like to give something back....
