I recently bought a set of the Trickflow LT1 heads, and I have a question about rocker arm use, can you use the HOTcam kit rockers which are self-aligning with pushrod guideplates? I wouldn't think so because I always thought that guideplates were designed to guide pushrods to a non-self aligning(hence NON). And if not, will the rockers that come with the HOTcam kit work with the TFS heads if I remove the guideplates, I know it's hard to tell without putting the rockers on, but I don't want to be installing the heads, and come to find out that I need a new set of rockers. I went to the gmpartsdirect site and looked up the hotcam rockers, which I have now, and it said the rockers are good up to .575 lift. I bought the CC306 cam and it has a .510(intake) and a .540(exhaust) with 1.5 ratio rockers. With the GM rockers which are 1.6, the lifts are .540(intake) and .576(exhaust). Would this really be pushing the limit with the rockers, or will I be fine if I remove the guideplates and use the GM rockers? Or would I be better off just getting a set of Crane Gold rockers and using the guideplates? Its the last thing Im worring about with my valve train. Got comp R lifters, CC chrommoly pushrods, new heads with everything, GM bowtie roller rockers.

You should be able to use the rockers from the hotcam kit if you remove the guideplates. You can't run the self-aligning rockers with guideplates. Everything I have seen puts the guideplates and NSA rockers as the stronger setup. But, if you already have them, the hotcam kit ones are fine.
