rocker arm keeps loosening up...
i have 1 rocker that wont stay lashed... we have lashed them twice already and it keeps loosening up. we are lashing them to zero the 3/4 turn like suggested. they have poly locks, rockers are proform 1.5's has duel springs and comp 1 piece rods with crane lifters. its getting very agrivating... before this i discovered 2 of my rockers where completely off and trashed so i replaced them with new. the other rocker isnt budging, its just my #2 cylinder exhaust side. during lashing we get the rockers to closed then lash them. is there something im doing wrong?

How are you locking the poly locks down? I have found the best method to keeping them tight is adding your preload MINUS 1/16th of a turn, then tighten down the set screw snug (not tight). THEN, turn the poly lock AND the set screw the additional 1/16th of a turn.

Are the tops of the studs flat? Are they Proform locks? Did you try switching the lock to another valve and see if it still comes loose? I've never had any trouble setting the lash and then tightening the set screw. For me, Proform does not have the best feeling of quality going for them.

quality of these things are crap and they are the proform locks. on that cylinder im putting on a diff lock. this is getting agrivating!!cant wait till winter and i order a nice set of comp rockers!!

did you put any red thread lock on the set screw? you can also check the set screws and see if they have the nylock insert in them...
you could go to a local fastener supply place and get some set screws with the nylock inserts, they wont backout..

I try for 1/8 turn extra on the poly and set screw combined. I've never had an issue in three sets. I would recommend Scorpions. I have two sets of lowmile s/a Promags in the garage, 1.52's and 1.6's.

I have 1.6 self aligning CNC rockers that just use torqed lock nuts on upgraded studs. Just used plently of blue threadlock and havent had a single problem or needed adjustment in 25k miles. And i dont baby the thing
