Roar

This may be a stupid question but here goes...while driving this evening I noticed that when I accelerated, I could hear a loud roar from the rear of the motor/front of transmission. It's pretty loud and dies down as the car decelerates. I put the car in park and I'm still getting that roaring/whirring noise. Anyone else have this problem?

Probably and automatic... because he said "when I put the car in park"

Check the trans fluid. Hopefully its not the pump going out.

It's an A4. I thought I had that in my sig. I'm having the tranny looked at this week by the guy who rebuilt it. But with the car in park, the trans should be disengaged and not a factor. I guess I'll find out what's wrong when the motor falls out. Damn I'm starting to hate this car.

True for the planetary gearset and clutch bands... not true for the trans pump. That turns all the time to cycle fluid through the tranny

Could also be a loose flex plate to engine or flex plate to converter bolt.
