rk sport headers?
rk sport headers?
hey guys, i've been thinking about getting headers if i have the money..
http://rksport.com/product/p_01096556/view_detail
i saw these and these are the middies they sell that are basically as&m's right?
i didn't know they were ceramic coated already either (definate plus)
do these come with emissions hookups though? i don't know since they say off road use only
also, i want to make sure they are basically the same as the as&m's
any help is appreciated, thanks guys

yes those are the same design as AS&M
do you see the piping sticking off the primaries in the pictures?, those are for emissions hookups, just like the stock manifolds
probably says for offroad use only becasue they change the catalytic converter location from stock (i think not sure tho0

i went back to post that i saw them, but my comp froze, so i just decided to let it go
and yea, they don't change the cat location from stock, atleast not the mids
also, does anybody know if i can get this cheaper somewhere else?
i mean, it already sounds like a great deal because they're ceramic coated and it even comes with a y pipe
thanks for the help simple, glad to know theyre what i'm looking for
I just bought these headers off their site and they look great. $450 is the cheapest ive seen any of the 1 3/4 but that is the sale price so i doubt u will get them any cheaper than that. Can anyone tell me why they come in 3 pieces? It seems like that 3rd piece will leak as its not welded on and it doesnt look pushed in all the way. Anyone know anything about this? I heard something about using sealant to prevent it leaking.
i'm not sure on those but i imagine (like Hooker LT's) its to clear the steering shaft, no big deal just use some copper RTV or some sort of high temp sealant on the tube that slips in, it should seal up fine
I have the RK's and am pretty happy with them given the price.
After 2 years, the coating they come with wasn't looking so good anymore so I recently had them redone by Jet Hot. Prior to sending them off, I had to address 1 minor issue. On the y-pipe, the small part where the two pipes merge into had to be welded. It comes with a little clamp type set up for each pipe. These leak and I've never been able to get them to seal. $10 at a local exhaust shop took care of it. Also, before I sent them out, I did a little grinding here and there to get the flanges nice and flat.
The slip fit leaks a bit too without some kind of sealing in there, but that's a problem found on lots of headers.
