Rings for stock pistons

I'm going to refresh the rod & main bearings in my 50,000 LT1. I was loosing a bit of oil pressure so I thought it would be a wise move before the season began. I'm going to reuse the stock rods & pistons. The bores look very good as they still show cross hatching. Should I just return the pistons with the old rings back into the same holes or flex hone the bores and get new rings? I read that these Hyper pistons have metric grooves. Where does one get good rings for them?

also

Any benefit to changing the spring in the oil pump to bump up the pressure a bit - I think Jegs sells a spring with higher preload.

BTW

Oil pressure loss looks like it was caused by the front cam bearing starting to go.

If you were loosing any type of pressure the pump should get replaced. Chances are if you are going to change the cam bearings a machine shop will be your best shot since it takes a special tool to remove and install them.

Might as well clean the block out real good to make sure all oil passages are cleaned up.

Did you check compression or did a leak down test on them? If the compression checked out ok just keep it like it is and reuse them. All depends on how much money you are willing to put into the refreshing up part.

Sounds like you are are the right track of freshing things up, I just got done doing mine for the upcoming season as well.
