rhodes v max lifters
rhodes v max lifters
Someone was telling me that rhodes v max lifters act like hydraulic lifters below 4000 rpm and then act like solid lifters above 4000 rpm...
Is there any truth to that?
I need to replace the lifters on my lt1 as I have the car apart anyways.
I was going to do ls7 lifters, but those have me thinking...

Re: rhodes v max lifters
Rhoads lifters always act like hydraulics, just that at low speed they bleed down rapidly making for noise and the cam to act smaller.
With the LT1 pcm's rpm limitations and modern cam technology there is not really any point to this.
We have great first gear rations and overdrive so we don't have to make any of the compromises these are supposed to address..
These things served a purpose in the 70s where you had to choose between launch gearing and streetable gearing and cam technology was in the dark ages and on and on.
