Reverse Lockout Problems - Help Please

My 97 Formula M6 has been running great with no problems, then today I go to start the car and the transmission is locked out of reverse and the check engine light pops on. I pull the fuse for the pcm to try to reset that but it didn't work and I'm still locked out of reverse. What should I check here? Is the lockout solenoid bad, did a fuse blow? Any advice would be great. Thanks.

Even when the reverse lockout selenoid is not connected you can still get into reverse, with a little muscle. So the selenoid not being powered is not your problem.

Other then that I don't know how it works, so I don't know how/if it breaking would cause this. Someone here should know

Re: Reverse Lockout Problems - Help Please

Just an idea, when I pulled my revers solinoid out of my car (to check it for proper voltage) and started her up.... the SES light came on...

Apply a 12 volt source to the solinoid to see if it pushes in smoothly... if not it probably dead... also check the connectors to the solinoid... see if thier bad... If I'm correct autozone sells replacement 2 prong GM connectors for like $7.99
