Rev Limiter???

Quick question about the rev limiter. Does anyone know if there would be any problems if i would have the rev limiter removed from the computer. If there would be could any one tell me what kinds of problems i would expect . I was just curious what would happen if i do program it out. Advice is greatly appreciated.. Thanks..

No back-up motor insurance...Why remove it??? If you are "hitting" the stock rev-limiter, look to see why and/or raise the rpm setting.

Re: Rev Limiter???

You can't remove it. You can only change it. I believe the stock PCM can only go to 7k rpm's. If you want to go higher you will need an aftermarket PCM. Also, unless you have a modified valvetrain, you don't need to go higher than stock.

Re: Rev Limiter???

thanks... i was just curious what would happen im not going to do that.. i began hitting the stock rev limiter after i had my 3.73s installed and at WOT it hits the rev limiter and i have to let off the gas and hit it again for it to shift into the next gear. Bryan at pcmforless says its fixable... so i will just have him straighten the rev limiter out..
