Question Reusing Bolts...

I know this has been debated off and on, but I want to know if rod and main bolts can be reused during a rebuild. Are these bolts also TTY? It appears unanimous that the head bolts are TTY. The motor I am rebuilding had 120K on the clock (if mileage has anything to do with it). When rebuilt, it will be pushing 400hp at the flywheel.

I know many recommend replacing all high-stress bolts with ARP bolts. I understand this proactive approach, but is this entirely necessary? Has anyone out there reused main/rod bolts and experienced a failure? How difficult is it to press out the rod bolts, and how is this done without distorting the rod?

Thanks!

If you are doing a rebuild you might as well go with ARP bolts. I would honestly not skimp out on things like this.
