resurfaced my heads

On the long block I got, the heads had to be resurfaced because it was run too hot and blew a head gasket and there was a slight scar on one of the heads.

My engine builder told me to keep a VERY close eye on engine temp, but shouldn't be too much a problem. Anyone ran into any serious problems? I know compression now has been raised a little bit.

If he resurfaced the heads he should have told you how much they were milled. This will give you an idea how much compression has increased. A bump in compression is nice and as long as it is not dramatic should not be cause for concern. The PCM can adjust for say a .5 increase without a problem from .010-.020" milling.

Alum heads can be easily damaged by a not so careful mechanic if they are in a rush to clean off gasket material, etc.

they were machined very good. They are smooth and very sharp on the edges as well! As far as the mill down, im not sure but he said compression would only be bumped up slightly as if I was running an impala head gasket.

He was just warning me not to run it hot. I have an electric water pump, 160 thermo, manual fan switch and I have got the radiator checked out. Before all this, it always ran around 180 stock. I plan on keeping it cool on my 355.
