Results from compression test!!!!
i was bored so i did a comp test on ym new 96 tA the car has 67,000 miles and I only did the drivers side right now but literally here were the numbers
all 4 cyclinders were dead on at about 185 psi
is that good for lt1's sorry I had mustangs before this one let me know thanks

im not familiar with LT1 comp ratio #'s but those sound good to me, i remember an old 350 i had with a 270h CC, and Forged Flat tops, getting around 165, so that sounds good, especially if they are very close together. This motor was freshly rebuilt and it was varying about 10-15 psi from cylinder to cylinder...so those #'s sound good to me
on a side note: how could you do that if you were just bored? It takes time and pain to remove all the plugs and the cram a Comp. tester down there, man you got time on your hands lol

If my memory serves me correct your compression gauge should read around 220 psi to 240psi with the motor warm. Assuming the stock cam is used.
If you have less than 200psi I waould say its time for that motor to get freshened up and make some power!

There are some variables he could not have taken into account as well, for one, all the plugs are supposed to be out to test any one of the cylinders, and the butterflys on the TB proped open and is it a wet or dry test proformed? Im not sure what all you have to on these cars but on the older carbuerated small blocks you had to take into account these factors....

I did forget to open the throttle body and the car was kind of cold but oh well as long as the numbers are close it is all good right they would be higher right if open tB and warm?
