Resistors for OBDII fan mod question...

I have searched around for information about the OBDII fan switch installation.

I have seen where two different resistor ratings have been used... I am confused and would appreciate some clarification.

The diagram that shoebox references HERE: http://web.camaross.com/forums/showt...hlight=fan+mod

shows 47-owm 1-watt resistors used.

A write up that I found elsewhere showed 470-ohm 1/2-watt resistors.

Radio Shack did not have 47-ohm 1-watt resistors, so I did not know what to do.

Can someone please clarify this for me?

Also, why type of Diode (what rating) should I use based on that diagram as well?

I just did the mod and everything is working fine for me, now.

The 470 ohm 1/2 watt resistors are for between the leds and
your 12+ supply. The 47 ohm resistors go between the
switch and wiring harness in the engine bay.

I used 47 ohm 1/2 watt resistors, because radio shack didn't
have 1 watt. Works fine, so far.

Hope this helps.

Per the diagram I referenced, the rating on the diodes is 3amp. The diodes are only needed if the LEDs don't go off when the key is off.
