Reseting Dummy Light

Ok so I had my brake dummy light come on and I took my car to have the brakes checked. Nothing wrong with them. I did have the right side third brake light bulb out though and I understand that can trip the brake dummy light. I put a new bulb in and the light is still on in the dash. Is there anyway to reset the light and try to make it go off? Any help would be appreciated.

reset the computer.

pull the ECM fuse in the dash or disconnect the battery for a few minutes.

If the fuse thing doesn't work, try pushing the brake down once very hard.

Pushing the brake pedal should work if you had a pressure imbalance and it is actually the BRAKE light that is on and not the ABS. Resetting the pcm will do nothing for the BRAKE light, since it is not pcm controlled (neither is the ABS light for that matter).

Ok guys, disconnecting the battery didn't fix anything nor did pressing the brake down. Like I said though everything checks out ok in the brake system. What else could it be. How can I check the brake pressure balance myself? Maybe the mechanic today overlooked something. Anyother help you guys can give me?

check the fluid level on the master cylinder. some cars have a level sensor on the master cylinder, if it does, try wiggling it, see if the light flickers.

wiggle the hand brake around, see if the light flickers.
