Ready for more bad news!!!....... The other one is not that far behind it! Give it one month it will go out as well. I am not trying to jinx ya, but that is what I gathered from my own experiences!
The mod 2 links back does work indeed. Though using jb weld is a perm solution, so next time around you will be replacing the entire assembly.
I picked up some sylvania XTRA vision bulbs.. ~$20 for the pair at autozone.
My headlamps were not burned out, but were original (from 1997). In all honesty, I barely notice any 'additional' light with the new bulbs in.
Biggest change in lighting came from getting ride of the trash stock fog lamps and putting some catz MSZ lamps (they fit the stock locations perfectly). The car is quite drivable now on country back roads.
