replace wiring or test

Pretty much the wires leading to the front o2 sensor from pcm on passenger side may need some attention. The insulation is getting hard and brittle. I do have a 24" o2 sensor extention so wondered if it would be advised to splice that extention in or if I should test the wiring and what would I do to test the wires are still fine. Or if there is a different option I should be considering.

Re: replace wiring or test

I'd test them if you think they are a potential source of problems. If they test ok then just replace the wire wrap.

appreciate the response. I ended doing what it took to get that bundle of wires topside for a close inspection and to shield from heat. I had thought the insulation was brittle but it wasn't that bad it was the tape that was around it. It gave me a great opportunity to put some heat protection on them since they run close to my headers. I will say it was definately worth the trouble to get them topside for a good inspection let alone the heat protection
