What are your plans for the car? Alot of performance upgrades? Are you going to be using any MSD ignition products? Do you have a decent budget or is it pretty tight?

I ordered a MSD rotor and cap kit for my lt1. I will be installing it tomorrow. Its a pain to install, the water pump and balancer have to come off for it to be installed i will repost the results tomorrow night or saturday when i get it put on....The price from Jegs was $177.22 shiped COD.

Is it bad? If not let it be, you will never have another one last as long as the original.

If you do change it, do the whole thing. Jason sells them for @ $240, if you just do the cap and rotor it will not last as long.

Replace the entire unit. If you go in and replace just the cap & rotor and that's not your fix. You're out another $200+. Plus you'll have the joy of doing all that work, again.

I would replace the opti as a whole assembly. As for the 02 sims, the plug-n-play ones usually run around 90 bucks for the pair. You can buy some cheapo ones off of ebay but you have to cut and splice them into the factory wiring harnesses.

I replaced the cap and rotor and the optical part went within a year, moral of the story replace the whole thing and be done with it.
