Does any auto parts store you know of rent out scanners to check for trouble codes?

 

i dont know of any that will actually rent one to you.... but most of the local parts stores pepboys, advanced, discount auto, etc. can actually scan your car for you. and im pretty sure most of the places do it for FREE!!

 

most places i know do it for free, its the parts/repairs you get nailed on

 

the problem is, is my car is not running and sitting at my house. I cant get it to start up at all... i guess its a good time to invest in a scanner. What is a good and fairly cheap one to get?
