Removing traction control
I want to know more about how to keep ABS and remove the ASR. I hate that box. I have little use for the ASR function. I know of one guy on the board that kept his ABS and got rid of that traction control. I've started about 4 of these threads in the past 6 months and no ones come up with how to do it and that guy hasnt responded. Hopefully one of these days someone will because I'm yanking the ASR next year ABS or not.

Get the SLP reverse traction control module for 50.00. Look it up on their website www.slponline.com . Some of the suppliers sell them too.
On my camaro there's a button above the radio labeled ASR. The SLP module clips inline to this switch.A dash light saying ASR Off comes on when the Traction Control has been turned off. Maybe some firebird guys can advise us about the ponchos. Also If you have your computer tuned you can have the ASR turned off permanently.I have the SLP catalogue at work which has the part # for this but check with thunderracing or year one. Others probably have it too.
I think he wants to remove it physically. Over the next week I will be doing this, only problem is I have to get some extra GM components to keep the ABS and Cruise Control.
I blew the headgaskets so I have some time to work on the car right now
I'm moving the battery to the rear, deleting that weird goat gizzard looking thing they use as a coolant reservoir/battery tray and replacing it with a polyethelene unit mounted near the radiator, also removing the stock power steering pump for a KSE unit mounted next to the coolant reservoir.
It makes the engine bay look a lot cleaner, also have some mods on the way.
I will let you know what the part numbers are and what else is needed to physically remove the ASR system.

Oh ****... sorry ppl. I just got my head & cam package running today... I deleted the ASR as well. I however did not keep the cruise control, all I did was call CMotorsports, had them hook me up with their GM dealer, and I told what I needed.
I'll see if I can dig up the part #'s later, all that I replaced was the throttle cable, nothing else.

Yes, but they want it out of the way, and I don't blame them.
