When i put on my long tubes..can i remove all of the smog stuff at the same time? i DO NOT need them, as i am not going to sell the car and I am NOT going to have to pass emissions. Just wandering what all i needed to remove/cap off etc when i do remove everything.

As far as the EGR is concerned, all you need to do is cap it off at the back of the intake manifold. The EGR valve is a little tougher to get off the car with the intake manifold on, but I guess it can be done. You'll also need to cap off any vacuum lines you see open once you remove the stuff.

 

What year is your car? (A "signature" with year, trans, major mod's helps people answer your questions, because all LT1's are not the same). After you remove the hardware, you may need to delete the functions in your PCM, depenmding on the year of your car.

 

sorry i need to do that. It is a 97 Z...loudmouth, filter, 02 sims, no cats..soon to have headers and something to replace the loudmouth.
